Counting already 75 years and nearly 2,000 members, the Verband Deutscher Tonmeister*innen (VDT) is considered one of the oldest and biggest professional associations in the pro-audio business. We have broadened our focus on the audio profession in the last decade. As a result, VDT nowadays represents a colorful and varied member base. Our members comprise audio professionals of all ages. They are active in all the different fields of the recording industry, broadcast, film, tv, multimedia, event technology and stage as well as media representatives, equipment industry, research, development and teaching.
Besides providing specialized training courses we also focus on the interdisciplinary exchange between different professional fields. Keeping up with the constant change of the industry, we are younger and more flexible, while keeping our focus sharp on obtaining the best possible recordings, the highest quality audio productions, and convincing PA illusions.
The VDT is not only supported by its individual members, but also by numerous companies that strive for the same ideals and contribute to funding that we all appreciate.
Every two years, we organize the Tonmeistertagung, our most important platform for members and non-members. It promotes the active exchange of experience between users, manufacturers and equipment suppliers. The event also brings together pro audio development, science and practice.
VDT members benefit from specialized range of seminars, congresses and publication content as well as cultivated cooperation with different associations and partners and the VDT magazine.
